What’s Hip: Mobile & Watch App
Hackathon 2014
DEMAND MEDIA
'‘What’s Hip’ is a mobile and smartwatch application developed by my team for Demand Media's 2014 HackaThon contest. Within a week, we conceived, designed, and built a functional version of the app to present to the judges. Our team included a presenter, two engineers, and another designer with whom I collaborated closely on the creative aspects.
Concept
The idea behind "What's Hip" is an app that provides information about activities and restaurants based on your location, time of day, and your friends' recommendations. Whether you're on vacation or simply looking for the latest happenings in your town, our goal was to address this need by creating the 'What's Hip App.' It enables you to discover the trendiest spots, no matter the time or place. Need suggestions for a romantic date tonight? Wondering which bands are playing in town? Curious about your friends' favorite bar? The What's Hip App has you covered, providing real-time updates on the coolest spots and exciting events throughout the day, guiding you along the way.
PROBLEMS WE WERE LOOKING TO SOLVE
What’s good to eat around me?
What fun activities are happening around near me?
Where have my friends been going, where are the hotspots in this town?
How do I get there?
